Corny 38th!

This year for Matt's Birthday,
the boys and I thought he should
have some time to stop and smell the flowers.

So, we bought him a hammock that somehow
didn't get together right on the first try...

Here, Matt was at his all-time low.

Then he hit rock bottom when he realized that
he was 38...it was bad.

Dinner revitalized the old man and...

we were honored to have
very special birthday balloons during dinner...

Matt couldn't BELIEVE the trouble we had gone to
to get those balloons to float over just for his big day...

After that, things got interesting when
Eli gave a short keynote speech
about politics from and 8 year-old perspective.

Robey got all relaxed and then things got
really crazy when we found that
there are many technical and
emotional facets involved
when you go to eat corn...

Contemplative Corn

Crammin' Corn

Corn Dog

Jimmy Crack Corn

Confusing Corn

Concentrating Corn

Comical Corn

Crazy Corn

Candy Corn...oh, wait...

AND

Robey has discovered one of the sacred
truths of a dog's life...there are
good things to eat under the
dinner table....

He's very cute but...well, alas, there's conduct
that is cause to contemplate just
how far he can carry his cuteness....

What we confiscated when we frisked the
frisky puppy perp...

Wet and Wild Waterdog

Robey most certainly DID NOT
mind getting wet, drying out a smidge
and then getting wet again.
He's impossible to keep out of the sprinklers
or the flow that waters the flowers and garden
or his water bowl for that matter.
He loves to get drinks from the drizzle
spraying out of the spicket and the downspouts
during a rainstorm.
If he could lift the lid to get into the toliet
he'd be paddling around in there.
WATER!
water, water, water, water, water!

20 minutes later...he was up and at em' AGAIN...

Well...he figured it out and was quite
pleased with himself. It took a good
20 minutes to get him convinced that the
plants were no longer thirsty or dirty...
Robey and I were the only casualities of this
wet little war. Eli and Matt made it out
dry...big chickens...

Someone Must Have Slipped Him a Mickey...

He fell asleep having his peaches
while I was dipping his plate.

Smiley here doesn't mind cuz
it's the last day of school and
a sleeping baby brother means
he can play big-boy stuff undisturbed.

We TRIED to wake him up to eat...

but He was OUT...

Before the rain...

Before the rain,
we were working hard to
finish our new raised garden boxes.
We got those done (didn't Matt do a good job?)
but were having to water everything like crazy!
Isaac and Robey were BIG helpers.

Rainy Days and Sundays

Isaac, "Hey...somfing is dripping on me..."

Oooh...it's FINALLY going to rain!

HURRY! Get everything picked up! Get Robey in!

It's pouring! Everyfeller for himself!
Heck with that baby brother and puppy!

Under the cozy comfort of the front
porch during the rest of the shower.

Eli thinks, "COOKIES!"

Gus agrees and joins the pout parade for a cookie snack!

Puppyface...please...

Cookies sure sound good to my tongue...

Momma gives in...ahhhh, sugar cookie...mmmmnnnn!

The Chocolate Chipper.

Cookie Face and Wet Head.

Hey Isaac , you got a little something
on your face buddy...right over there...
lower...no lower...ON YOUR CHIN!

Our Rainbow...God made it just for us.
We know he did!

Our beautiful sunset after playing in the rain...
(Aunt Lisa took this on our post rain shower walk...
didn't she do a good job?)
