Cozy Couch - The Cuddle Spot

Okay...my guys are STILL camped out on the couch...STILL.
Eli was sick off and on the last two weeks of school
and since school let out, he's been on the couch.
He's got his dad's blanket that Oma made and all
of his techno devices (mp3 player, PSP, laptop, AND A BOOK!)
but he STILL is dealing with feelin' PUNK!
TV restrictions have been lifted in light of illness so
we're trying to trudge through but it still isn't a
whole lot of fun.

We've got new antibiotics. The doc says
that we have bad luck and not some immune disorder.
(Whew...cuz I was really starting to wonder...)
Big E's appetite is SHOT. He doesn't want to eat
and he coughs every 2.4 seconds deep in his lungs
and frankly, I feel like I'm being tortured slowly with
that sound. It must be awful to have to listen to it
and do it. He does NOT have pneumonia. We checked that.

Isaac's got a touch of "couch fever" and isn't
enjoying Eli's convalescence because it
jacks with their playing habits. So...
my little dude makes due hanging out
on the couch near his beloved, big brother.
(Eli is not currently contagious...)

Yes, Isaac is totally playing possum in the large
collage shot but in the others, the cozy
affection is most genuine as I snuck up
on the little buggers
(If you're English, I apologize for my profanity).

Prayers are much appreciated...thanks!

The Box

I keep threatening to ship them to their grandparents.
Today, I got the box.

Mom, Dad...if there's a box on the porch with some holes
in the top, open it quick. Isaac probably has to pee.
Thanks and good luck...

Saturday Morning

Matt and I have a common childhood experience from
when we were growing up...

Saturday Mornings = Giant, Mixing-Bowl Sized Bowls of Cereal
AND
Cartoons in our Jammies until Noon-ish

It's a tradition that we proudly continue with
our boys and one that they enjoy even if
the junkiest cereal that I'll buy is
Fruit Loops...BUT, TODAY
my sugar junkies were ALL smiles
cuz Momma bought cereal straws!

OF COURSE, Isaac is the one that figures out first
that you can blow bubbles out as well as suck milk up.

Yes, INDEED, that's my boy.

Num...junky cereal is good and ever so
much better than oats with blueberries or muselix!

Sunday Night Fetch and Grab

Sundays are big days and by the time dinner time rolls
around, we're often too pooped to put in much effort.
So, Sunday Night becomes a free-for-all.
We call these dinners "fetch and grab" meaning
to find what you can (within reason) cuz you're
pretty much on your own. Tonight, my little fellers
opted for self-made PB&J's and apples
(stinkers, didn't want the stir-fry we'd actually made).
The stir-fry took all I had and so they were on their lonesome.

First, you have to taste it to make sure it is okay.

Then you hafta spread the peanut butter on the bread.

This can get messy so you usually hafta lick your fingers.

AND...while your dumb big brother has already made and
gobbled up 2 or 3 sandwhiches...

You're still on step one and hafta take a little bite
just to make it through step #2.

which is squeezing out the jelly...

You hafta squeeze REALLY hard!
(check his tongue...he's working hard)

FINALLY, you're all done and quite pleased with yourself.

AND your big brother is halfway through is 154th sandwhich!
(Eli only had one sandwhich then he was on to muffins
and apples...I'm fibbing on him...stinker wouldn't let me take
a blame picture!)

Good Grub!

Belly UP to the bar boys!

Isaac REALLY likes his new booster!
Now he can sit at the bar (okay island) with his
brother and have snack while Eli does
homework. They love being together and I'm so glad.
I think God may have given me a BIG chunk of
my heaven, right here now on earth with
my sweet boys and their wonderful daddy!
Thanks Lord!
