Camp Aunt K's

The boys are gone for a couple of nights.
Camp Aunt K's is the funniest place, EVER.
They've got GREAT junior counselors...Shelby & Lucas.
Their fun & fitness director Eric is da bomb!
And the director/dean of the joint, Aunt K herself,
makes sure that everyone gets what they want to eat,
has lots of gum, and does all sorts of stuff that mom would
probably veto but that's super-cool for an Aunt to do.
Matt and I highly recommend this camp.
It's first-rate with a quality staff & facility.
AND it's so darn cost-effective...well worth the trip down
to drop the little guys off.

K's Knee Update

Okay so August, (for those of you
who don't have children in school)
August is a month that will
come to suck your brain out
in the not so distant future.
We're back to school and settling
into our school-year groove, yuck...and
I'm just now catching my breath to be
able to catch up on laundry...let alone blogging...

Anyways...

Okay so, K's surgery went well
as did recovery even if it went WAY
too slow for her comfort or patience.
She had this nifty device to keep cool compression
on her knee as she healed and she found out that
she had a full-time teaching position at Ivy Tech
while she was laid-up and so that made her happy
for a nano-second and then COMPLETELY stressed
her out the next cuz it started immediately.
She is happily teaching nursing students who are in clinicals.
In fact, both she and Lisa are teaching in their
respective fields at Ivy Tech. And they
thought that they wouldn't end up
teaching like mom and I...HA!

Aunt K's Knee

Aunt K has a torn meniscus in her knee.
She has surgery tomorrow to take out the tear
and then she has to stay in bed for THREE days
with her knee elevated above her heart.
We're seriously skeptical as to how she will
remain in bed for that length of time without
going COMPLETELY crazy...
Besides the way, her torn meniscus was feeling
all better until a certain unnamed, older sister
started dragging her on hiking trails. So, it's
all that sister's fault. Dumb sister...what's wrong with her?

Kristen and Eric's Big Day

It was a WONDERFULLY happy day for us all and
especially for Kristen, Eric and Shelby.
Their outdoor ceremony couldn't have been more
beautiful! The bride, her groom, the bride's daughter,
the scenery, the behavior of ALL the children, the food...
Everything was PERFECT.
