A bad day to have forgotten the camera...

Okay so...Exciting morning planned at the library. We have books
to return (check), diapers (check), kids in carseats (check),
snacks and sippy cup (check), big boy snack and drink (check),
purse, wallet, diaper bag, keys, (check),
lists and returns for later errands (check)...

Forgot the camera (SHOOT!)

We had a great time seeing Jungle John and his menagerie
of owls, frogs, toads, snakes, tarantulas hedgehogs and
the dog name bear... AND we PETTED them...yep...
and THEN we ate snowcones...
AND THEN we went and got lots and lots of books and
cd's and magazines AND THEN...we went
and ATE PIZZA for lunch (YEA!)
and THEN we ran errands and went to the grocery store
and burned slap up cuz it was so dang hot and then
we went home and passed out.

Here's the pretty flowers we bought on the
day we forgot the camera. :)

Independence Day a little early...

And off he went...
to join his brother for an outdoor adventure
WITHOUT THE MOMMA {gasp}!
(Although...she sneakily watched out the kitchen window over dishes)

Breakfast on the porch...

It's was a glorious morning and after Isaac enjoyed his favorite
breakfast of "bic-kits" and fruit. He and his brother managed
to quasi-wrestle on momma's swing without getting hurt.
Put up your dukes!

All Shiny Clean

The tub is one place to catch him sitting still...
and there's totally cool light in there for picture taking.
We had fun getting all shiny clean!

Heavy on the Eli...

Well...the blog seems to be ALL ABOUT Eli lately...
The main reason for this is that Isaac is a mobile monster
and RARELY sits still but there's also been a lot of growing
on Eli's part lately that sort of needs celebrated with a lot of
pictures. For instance, he learned to ride a bike INCLUDING
starting and stopping himself AND turning in only two days.
WOW! He got a hunk bit out of him (we're talking broken
skin and bruising) by the aforementioned mobile monster
and managed very well to NOT knock him out. He had a
great check-up at the dentist today and continues on
with his never having a cavity status. We're so thankful
for his self-control, his healthy mind and body, his good
sense of humor, his sweet and affectionate spirit, and
his obedient heart. We're blessed beyond measure with
both of our boys and hopefully we'll catch the other
one in more pics this coming week. It might help you to
understand just how challenging this is if I tell you that
one of the main sounds in our house of late is the rowdy
THUMPY, THUMP, THUMP of 26 pound little
boy-baby feet as they pound all over the house.
Isaac does not stop!
Eli does a little...so here's a sweet foo-foo face shot!

Shadow and Light

My sleepy boy was the perfect subject as I played with the lighting settings on my camera...

Out the window...rainy day faces...

Father's Day was rainy and lazy here. We went to church and ate out and napped then we spent some time looking out the window at the rain. The calm light shining in on my favorite faces compelled me to go get my camera and try to capture the moment. Thanks be to God for good daddies and sweet babies...

Wacky Outfit Day and The K & E Bot

Here's Eli on Wacky Outfit Day...Gus jumped in on the action looking a little wacky himself!
(He'd just gotten out of bed. I don't think the
camera caught the sheet wrinkles still on his face but maybe... ;)

The K and E Bot

Camp Invention was a huge thrill for Eli. He LOVED everything but especially enjoyed the take apart module where students took apart an item from home and used the pieces to invent something entirely different. Eli worked with a buddy and they came up with this super cute robot. He had a circuit board and a computer chip BUT they're still working out the bugs because for all of The Bots advanced electronics...he didn't quite turn on...YET.

Camp Invention

Eli's having a blast this week at Camp Invention...
where Imaginations run wild!
It's being hosted at his school and kids from all over the area are attending. The purpose of the camp is to turn kids onto Science by sparking their imaginations. Here's an overview: Camp Invention is a weeklong summer enrichment day program offered in local communities for children entering first through sixth grades. Participating daily in five activity- oriented thematic modules, children enhance their understanding of science, math, history, and the arts while having lots of fun. This exciting program invites children to let their imaginations run wild through teamwork, creative problem solving, and inventive thinking. It's great. Daddy likes it because the Patent and Tradmark Office are sponsors. So...anyways...above are the pictures from Crazy Hat Day...he chose, of course, the Germany soccer hat because he's CRAZY about soccer and the World Cup is going on and blah, blah, blah, poor momma has to listen about soccer ALL THE TIME.... :)

The Big Guy's Birthday

We spent all day getting ready to surprise

Daddy! We got him a new bike (I picked it out...I know just what he likes) and a
trailer for Gus to ride in! We had everything
all put together and rubbed shiny for right when Daddy got home...I was the lookout. When he pulled up, I said to mom, "Dad at 4 o'clock!" He couldn't believe it. He was so surprised! Gotcha dad! Happy Birthday!
