I can't quit playing with these photographs. They capture many facets of his CRAZY beautiful personality and I can't help but stop and STARE in wonder and awe that God choose me to be his momma. The size of this gift..simply STUNS me.
I drive Isaac CRAZY when I decide to "play". There's beautiful sunlight shining in my windows, he's not in school today, and that means that mommy gets her camera out to play with shadows and light. How can I resist with a face like this...
Having to wrest your beloved baseball out of the mouth of large dog, REPEATEDLY, teaches you something. Throwing down with an animal twice your body weight...you learn how to handle yourself a little bit.
The lecture on the mound...THIS is MY ball.
The catcher deals with interference.
And again...pick up, throw, catch plus lots of interesting faces and some spit.
You MUST spit. There IS spitting in baseball.
He LOOKS ready. He's ready, RIGHT?
He looks innocent enough BUT don't be fooled. He's STALKING.
AND he steals it AGAIN.
Are you ready to rumble?
GIMME the ball. DROP IT!
Robey feigns repentance, the boys get that ball and are back at it.
Shaking off his catcher's call and throwing his own stuff.
Catcher's not happy. Pitcher is going it alone. What will he throw?
And the pitcher brings the blazing HEAT! YOU'RE OUTTA THERE BATTER! OUCH!
*nOTe* Dear God, when my baby boy is a baseball ROCKSTAR, please don't let him date Madonna or use steroids. Thanks & Amen.
I HATE my photo editor today. It's doing nothing close to what I want and what little it is doing isn't quite dramatic enough for me. Essentially, I've driven myself crazy playing with this photo and I need to stop. I can't even decide which crop I like best...hmmmpff!
What I LOVE about this photo that compels me to continue to fool with it IS her eyes and her whispy hair flying off asymmetrically to the right...hmnnnn... What to do...what to do...I want to intensify both and am having trouble. Suggestions?

I think it is a flower garden; she thinks it is a meadow lacking grass, and tries to correct the error. ~Sara Stein, My Weeds, 1988
Crazy curly-haired mom living as the only exception in an all male household. Living life out of the car running busy boys everywhere, trying to keep or get everybody healthy, happy, fed, and quasi-educated. Totally in love with the whole giant MESS of it all and my main guy and co-conspirator husband, Matt. 16 years of marriage, two boys, a large dog, a love of God Almighty, a passion for Special Education and all things creative...I blog out our lives in a desperate attempt to hold on to every little piece and savor each miraculously messy moment.
