Cowboy Camp

Cowboy Camp...it started like this...

Me, "Hey Zoe, Nana will be here next week for
a visit and Aunt J has a couple of free days, maybe

we can hang out and have a couple of playdates."

Zoe, "Aunt Jeri Lynn, I want to go to Cowboy Camp."

Now, you hafta remember that we bout' lost Miss Sassy Zo when
she was still in her momma's tummy even and then again
we were afraid for her life with the whole heart surgery at
11 days old thing and so we're all just a "tad" CRAZY when it comes
to her and certain request like, for instance, Cowboy Camp.

This picture embodies Zoe's daily joy for life &
the joy that she is for all of us. Thanks be to God
that we have her to do things like Cowboy Camp with.

Yipee-O-Ki-Ay! Indeed.

Anyways, Nana and I, Paw and Eli too...
went nuts...there was jerky eating and waterhol
es
and drinkin' from dippers out of buckets and pony riding
and hog tying and campfires and cowboy food and ropin' lessons
and cowboy music and Gene Autry and hot coffee (root beer)
in tin cups by the fire. There was a cow boss and a jigger
and a chuck wagon.

In a word...WE WENT ALL OUT. We had a blast.

Oh, most of the photography credit here goes

to that dirty hombre Paw...the original cowpoke.
(He's an old cowhand...from the Rio Grande.)
He was actually the law in town and made WANTED
posters along with $500 dollar rewards for our
two buckaroos. I cooperated and turned Lasso Luke
over...I'm still waiting on my money...

Hawg wrastlin' is tough business...

Hot coffee by the campfire out on the trail.
Isn't this here feller a handsome wrangler?
Who knew that Chuck Taylors were official
cowboy gear...

Wettin' her Whistle...

Lookout there pardner...that there far is hot.

This bad hombre likes his coffee breaks a little TOO much.

Here he is again while his compadres are out
getting dusty on the range.

Miss Flossy's coffee is lip-smacking good.
She's hungry for her vittles though and
Cookie was rustling up some cowboy beans
with Little Mary. Them sure were good beans.
